Apple iPad 4 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, the new iPad is cooler

Few days later after Google announced its brand new 10-inch Nexus 10 tablet, which is being touted as “the world’s highest resolution tablet display, I have compared the device with Apple’s iPad 4.” Today, with the patent infringement battle between Apple and Samsung continues going, many of us may get confused about which one is better for buying this holiday season, so here I compared the Apple's revamped iPad with Retina Display with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to make your purchasing decision easier.

iPad 4 vs Galaxy Note 10.1

Apple’s new iPad is up with a 9.7-inch Retina Display that offers a mesmeric screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at a 264 PPI (Pixel Per Inch) density and a 4:3 aspect ratio. While The Note 10.1 sports a 10.1-inch display that only has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at a 149 PPI. I’m always curious about that why Samsung don’t use a higher resolution in order to compete with other high-end tablets.
Winner: Apple iPad is unbeatable in screen resolution.

The iPad 4 is 241.2 x 185.7 x 9.4mm and 652g (662g for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model). The Galaxy Note 10.1 is 262 x 180 x 8.9mm and 597g (600g for the 3G version), and the Transformer Prime is 263 x 180.8 x 10.4mm and 586g. That's without the dock, of course: adding that takes its widest point to 19.4mm and its weight to 1,123g.

The new Apple tablet comes with its own A6X chip inside a dual core processor that clocked at 1.5GHz, which Apple said it would be twice as fast as that of the iPad 3. The Galaxy Note 10.1 powers the Sammy’s Exynos quad-core processor with a clocking speed of 1.4GHz. And according to the detail information from, iPad 4 benchmarks confirm the A6X as the most powerful SoC on the market.
Winner: Draw

Samsung galaxy Note 10.1 supply extra power to their quad core CPUs with 2GB of onboard RAM. It is a great advantage for the tablets over iPad 4, which is presumably to go with the same 1GB RAM of its predecessor.
Winner: Galaxy Note 10.1

Both the iPad and the Galaxy Note 10.1 are available with 16/32/64 GB on-board storage options. However, the Galaxy Note 10.1 also has the option to expand the memory to a further 64GB by using a microSD card. Both these tablets come in variants with added cellular connectivity, but only the iPad 4 can use LTE networks.
Winner: Galaxy Note 10.1

The iPad and Galaxy Note 10.1 both feature a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. However, Samsung offers a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, while Apple offers a 1.2 megapixels one.
Winner: Galaxy Note 10.1

The new iPad powers a 42.5 watt-hour battery, which Apple claims will provide 10 hours of usage. When compared to the iPad, Samsung doesn't claim anything, just saying the Galaxy Note 10.1 includes a powerful 7000mAh battery.

Operating System
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), while the iPad runs on the latest iOS 6. Although Samsung has already begun delivery of Android 4.1 for the Galaxy Note 10.1 in some parts of the world, we should admit that there are still more great running apps on the iPad 4.

If the Galaxy Note 10.1 were to be a regular Android tablet, the discussion would have stopped there. However, a unique feature of the Galaxy Note 10.1 is the S Pen stylus which makes the tablet stands out among other available tablets. The Note 10.1 can take advantage of the ever increasing number of S-Pen optimized apps. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 shares its resolution with the Galaxy Note 10.1, meaning all S-Pen optimized apps (S Memo, Air View, S Note and such) are available on the big brother as we.

Samsung galaxy note 10.1 S Pen

This is the unique selling point of the Galaxy Note 10.1: do you want to be able to accurately outline graphs, take notes or go creative from a graphical perspective? The Galaxy Note 10.1 has you covered. Add Samsung’s software tweaks (Multitasking is a real winner), the Galaxy S3-inspired Smart Functions and the various useful features of Jelly Bean and the Note 10.1 seems to be a very potent tablet when it comes to its software capabilities.
Winner: Draw

Samsung galaxy Note 10.1 32GB version comes for just $499, the price you may have to pay for the 16GB iPad 4. Of course, both of the devices will offer at a lower price during the holiday season. Just check the new information.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is an interesting tablet that many could grow fond of, especially if users utilize of the S-Pen. It is very useful for students. But judging overall, the Apple iPad 4 features a superior display, and has access to an unrivaled range of tablet optimized apps that offer more things to you.

So which one would you get? Thank you for Leave your opinion.

Microsoft rumoured to be working on 7-inch Xbox Surface gaming tablet, big rival to iPad Mini

According to the information from Tom Warren of The Verge, Microsoft now is building its own 7-inch Xbox Surface gaming tablet, in order to compete with Apple’s iPad Mini after announcing the Surface tablet to counter the Apple iPad tablet, which has a 50.4 percent share in the tablet market. In fact, Rumours of the Xbox Surface had first appeared in June, ahead of Microsoft announced Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets.

The report by The Verge states that the Xbox Surface, possibly, will features a custom ARM processor and high-bandwidth RAM designed specifically for gaming tasks. Multiple sources familiar with the plans have stated that these specifications could be changed to accommodate an unannounced Intel SoC, and that the Xbox Surface is being developed independent of specific hardware architecture.

Reportedly, the Xbox Surface tablet will not run the full version of Windows as the Surface Pro tablet does. Instead, it would feature a custom Windows kernel. This tablet will primary focus on gaming though messaging and other features may be supported. So this is good news for those who are game lovers.

Microsoft has recently developed a secret hardware production process for the Surface tablets that is separate from those of its partners, which usually manufacture the company’s Xbox consoles, the device Microsoft have confirmed that more than 70 million XBOX 360 consoles had been sold worldwide Last month.

Sources from Verge also says that this Xbox Surface is likely to be manufactured in the same factory, but that any future "Xbox 720" console will be manufactured in mass quantities by companies like Pegatron or Foxconn, a company that makes phones for Apple.

The report in the end also says part of the Xbox Surface is being developed at Microsoft's offices in Silicon Valley, where security has been boosted like as locked down several Xbox-related buildings and employee access are limited into various Xbox buildings.

Not for Movies and Music, but Games

With its 7" size, the Xbox Surface seems to compete with the Amazon Kindle Fire, Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet, Google Nexus 7 ,but the biggest competitor is the new iPad mini with a 7.9" screen, which have a huge amount of game software and have sold 3 million in 3 days.

As Enderle sees it, principal analyst at the Enderle Group, an Xbox Surface would fill an obvious gap in Microsoft's new tablet line up. Microsoft does not yet offer a 7-inch tablet. At the same time, the Xbox brand carries plenty of weight with gamers, so much so that Microsoft recently introduced the concept of Xbox Music.

"A Surface Xbox could be substantially better than either Nintendo or Sony's offering because the platform is much stronger and more robust," Enderle said. "Like Google, Microsoft would have a family of products that would address different needs that could easily interoperate. You could have a large Surface and a small Surface and play games on both." The Xbox has not only games; it's got movies and music.

Price Guess:

The Surface RT model with the minimum 32 gigabytes of RAM and an optional black Touch Cover carries a bill of materials of $271, according to a preliminary estimate from the IHS iSuppli Teardown Analysis Service. When the $13 manufacturing expense is added in, the total cost to manufacture the Surface rises to $284. Of course, a 7-inch tablet would presumably cost less to manufacture. Price would be an important factor in the Xbox Surface's success, so it could slide in at a reasonable price, not as high as the Surface.

There's no official comment about the XBOX Surface from Microsoft. Well, we’ll bring you further information in time.

iPad mini display is ‘terrible’, Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD are your choice to enjoy HD Videos

Apple release a new iPad mini at an event for media in San Jose, Calif. , costs $130 more than the two other best handheld tablets on the market of similar size, Amazon's Kindle Fire HD and Google Nexus 7. The new iPad mini tablet did not get the warm reception the company is used to when it unveils new products. Why?

Sites with early access to the device all seem to agree that the hardware is leaps and bounds better than other tiny tablets, and that the overall experience is smoother as well. But compared to other rival tablets, the display is terrible. The iPad mini's 1024 x 768 resolution was a big step backwards from the iPad's much-touted Retina display. That’s a problem.

“Ew, the screen is terrible,” was the initial reaction of John Gruber’s wife when he first handed her the iPad mini, and he writes that the response matched his exactly. “The hardware and software are fantastic but the screen is “terrible” compared to Apple’s Retina displays”, The Daring Fireball owner went on to say that his opinion after a week remains unchanged.

The iPad mini has a resolution of 1024x780, with 163 pixels-per-inch; the Kindle Fire HD has a 1280x800 resolution, with 216 pixels-per-inch; and the Google Nexus 7 have a 1280×800 resolution with 216 ppi-per-inch. In this case, higher is better, lower is worse; Apple's screen doesn't stack up, and it comes affixed to a device that is $130 more expensive than the competition.

Now In an effort to make the tablet "even more portable," a 32GB version with HSPA+ antenna (compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile) will be released November 13th, only priced at $249. Also, in a post on its CampusLife website, the company confirmed that the Nexus 7 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update would be arriving soon for the tablet.

The Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire 7 HD have an aspect ratio of 16:10, closer to the 16:9 of the iPhone 5, which offers greater width (in landscape orientation) and height (in portrait orientation). That's better for HD video and single column lists. Here's an example of a popular movie on the iPad mini (left) and the Nexus 7/Kindle Fire HD 7 (right), in both widescreen (top) and full screen (bottom). test from imore have highlighted the interface chrome to better differentiate active content areas.

The iPad mini shows the wide screen version of the movie at a larger size, but downscales it from 1280 horizontal pixels to 1024 horizontal pixels (and vertically downscales from 720p to 585p). Full motion graphics, like movies and video games, however, are extremely resilient when it comes to screen density (just look at the variety of sizes 1080p television sets come in). So, it won't look terrible, but it won't look as good as the pixel-perfect Android tablets. At full screen, the iPad mini is much bigger, but also cuts off much more of the picture on both sides, an absolute deal-breaker for movie fans.

The lack of true HD gives the Nexus and Fire HD an advantage for video fans, Wall Street Journal columnist Walt Mossberg wrote.

Now, Sales of Google Inc. Nexus 7, made by Taiwan’s Asustek Computer Inc., are closing in on 1 million units a month, the Taiwanese maker revealed, while at the same time Apple's iPad Mini will hits stores on Friday. What will happen in the 7-inch tablet market? It remains to see.
